I was born in Wichita KS, grew up in Odessa, Midland and Houston TX just in time to join the Navy for part of the Vietnam era. I served in San Diego, Charleston, Pensacola, Bremerhaven Germany and Philadelphia, skipping Southeast Asia and all seven seas entirely.
After the Navy I lived in Houston, Atlanta and Columbus, OH, pursuing a career as a creative director. I worked for a number of retail and advertising firms including for a dozen years, my own.
Success proving burdensome, family being raised and dispersed, and pets having departed, I put myself to work as a painter.
The rest might become history.
Working with acrylic paint, sprayed, brushed, sometimes mixed with other substances, I examine textures and colors and the differences in texture and color to create abstractions with surprising emotional impact. In some degree, each piece I create is about opposites.
